Everything to Everybody

Library of Birmingham, Birmingham
Democratising Shakespeare. That’s what George Dawson did back in 1867 when they made Shakespeare’s first folio available for public reading. No longer the preserve of academics and the elite.

Everything to everybody was a shout out to the people of Birmingham, to showcase historic objects from Birmingham Shakespeare Memorial Library whilst celebrating a history of activism and social action.
Icons to represent each incarnation of the building. These three icons formed the building blocks of the graphic approach.

We created spray-painted stencils as part of the call-to-action of the exhibition. The offcuts from these were then used as additional textures on the wallpaper.
